RHODES
to health

My story:
My story:
Rhodes to Health began with my own frightening experience of poor health in 2017 and the journey to recovery. It all started with a bout of bacterial pneumonia that refused to clear up. I was struck down by unexplained fevers, nerve pain, dizziness, migraines, breathing difficulties and overwhelming fatigue. In the blink of an eye I had gone from busy mum, to housebound patient. For three years I struggled with these debilitating symptoms that no one could understand (or sometimes, even believe). During this time, I remember lying in bed and hearing those passing by on their walk to work or with their children to school as though they were part of a different world to me and envying them for their ability to take part in normal everyday routines.

My journey:
A combination of wisdom from various health practitioners, and my own research, finally started me on my long road to recovery. It was established that the pneumonia had triggered a rare auto immune reaction.
My experience has taught me that regaining health can take time, that there isn’t
always a single simple solution, but rather a multi-faceted approach, and that
supporting the body (through both nutrients and lifestyle practices), can aid in this process. This is what I offer to my clients today.
Although my own story was primarily one of immune dysfunction, I am passionate about supporting health challenges in a broad range of other areas too, including gut health, hormonal imbalances, blood sugar dysregulation, and anxiety, as well as maintaining optimal health through the different life stages.
A BSc degree in Nutritional Therapy from the renowned Institute for Optimum Nutrition provided me with the latest knowledge and expertise within the field of nutrition, and my previous career in secondary school education fuelled my passion for educating, engaging and motivating others to embrace change. I’m dedicated to evidence-based practice, and am currently engaged in a systematic review, exploring the effect of medicinal mushrooms on Epstein Barr virus pathology, which is associated with various chronic health conditions.
